" X-T 1MBT ' PEMBROKE VFW PRESENTS LORI ANN LOCKLE AR W ? r * 1 v >' ? ? IK )<0H ANN LOCKLEAK "T Peahrake-It's going to be a'"Happen ing," according to Bobby Dean Locklear, Boat Commander of Pembroke VFW Post 2843. And the happening is Lori Ann Locklear in concert Saturday night at PSU's Performing Arts Center. The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are S3 advance, S4 at the door. Children under six are admitted free. Loci Ann Locklear, now enrolled at PSU, has taken the area by storm and is known as "our own lady of country . musk." She is a sterling talent and, as I see it, has die potential to go all the way in a country musk career. I would not be surprised to see her on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry one day. She is also performing for a good and worthy cause-the Pembroke VFW Post 2843 which is charged to provide services to area veterans. This is also a good opportunity for local folks to come out and enjoy the splendor of the spacious and comfortable Perfor > ? '' ? ming Arts Center, one of the best performing halls in North Carolina. Acoustics are good in the center, and this will enhance Lori Ann's natural and sweeping talent. I recommend Lori Ann Locklear to you. I take a certain pride in being part of the effort to introduce her to the area. Remember, 1 said it first: Lori Ann Locklear is going to be a start And you have an opportunity to see her in performance Saturday night and, at the . self-same time, support a good and worthy cause-the Pembroke VFW. Tickets are available at the Carolina In dan Voice, Pembroke Hardware, or can be secured from any VFW or DAV member, as well as from members of the Pembroke Jaycees and Jaycettes. Or, as noted, tickets will be available at the door on the nigfit of the performance for $4. It would be especially nice to fill up the cavernous PSU Performing Arts Center for "one of our own." Hope to see you there! CAMPAIGN NOTES ?Andrew Young to appear on Behalf of Rep. Then legal notice arid a public hearing had to be s^t up on the matter. The motion to adopt the resolution was made and secondhand the public hearing wUK-fme set up for the first meettA of the Town board in Notfcnber. A question came up on a hook-up to the city's water and sewer supply. On approv al of the council, the hook-up would be made but any repair i I V _ to any property to restore such property to its original state would have to be borne by the property holder. In other words, if the property holder wanted to hook up to the city water line, and the line was on the opposite side of the street, the city would proceed to book the property holder to the line; but all repairs to the street that had to be tore up or other city property would be the obliga tion of the property holder.
